FAMILY DENTAL CARE IN TORONTO, ON

Family Dentistry

At Premiere Health Group, a Toronto-area dental practice, we believe that preventative care is the key to maintaining good oral health.

Regular checkups and dental cleanings help to identify any existing problems or potential problems, such as cavities or periodontal disease. Dental X-rays can help to detect any underlying issues that may not be visible to the naked eye.

Fillings & Crowns: Fillings are used to repair damaged or decayed teeth, as well as to replace missing teeth. Crowns are dental caps that can be used to strengthen a weakened or damaged tooth.
Cosmetic Dentistry: We provide cosmetic treatments, such as teeth whitening, veneers, and bonding.
Emergency Dentistry: We provide emergency care for dental problems that arise suddenly or unexpectedly.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY IN TORONTO, ON

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry emphasizes preserving and improving the appearance of a patient’s smile.

While some may consider these treatments as electives, there is a growing trend in blending cosmetic dentistry with general dental procedures. We offer our patients many kinds of cosmetic dental treatments. These consist of:

Composite Bonding: Broken, chipped, and discolored parts of teeth are restored by building up a special composite resin.
Dental Veneers: Thin shells of porcelain bonded to the surface of a tooth or teeth to cover gaps, cracks, and chips, hide previous dental work, and improve the color and shape of your teeth.
Inlays or Onlays: Also called indirect fillings, are a long-lasting type of restoration that can repair the damage that is more extensive than a traditional filling can address.
Teeth Whitening: Gently removes stains and discoloration on teeth. This procedure can be performed at home or in our office.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT IN TORONTO, ON

Endodontics

Endodontics is the branch of dentistry concerning dental pulp and tissues surrounding the roots of a tooth. Also commonly referred to as a root canal treatment.

A root canal treatment is done to save a tooth that is infected and causing pain and would otherwise need to be extracted. An extraction is more costly in the long run and may cause complications with adjacent teeth.

A root canal or endodontic therapy is often needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or an infection. The dental pulp (the living tissue inside the infected tooth) and any decay are removed and treated with disinfectant to help save the tooth. Once removed, the resulting hole in the tooth is filled and sealed to restore the tooth to its full function. A crown may be required to complete the restoration.

TEETH WHITENING IN TORONTO, ON

Teeth Whitening

Teeth stains are inevitable due to our consumption of a variety of foods and drinks (soda, spicy food, coffee, etc.). Advanced teeth whitening technology has enabled dentists to whiten teeth without adversely affecting the tooth structure.

Most whitening methods are similar in concept, but some are much more effective because of the way the whitening material is delivered to the teeth. The two main methods of professional whitening are tray whitening and in-office whitening.

In tray whitening, an impression is taken and a custom tray is made for the patient. Then, a supply of whitening gel is given to the patient and he/she wears the tray for a few hours each day (techniques differ) for a period of time until an acceptable result is achieved. Sensitivity of the teeth is a normal side-effect of this whitening method and is almost always transitional.
On the other hand, in-office whitening is the most efficient means of whitening. There are a number of different types used, but the process is very similar for these methods; you can have your teeth whitened in one session and achieve significant results.

DENTAL RESTORATIONS IN TORONTO, ON

Restorations

Are your teeth missing, decayed, weakened or fractured? You might need a dental restoration.

Restorations are the various ways your dentist can replace or restore your missing teeth, missing parts of your tooth structure, or structures that need to be removed to prevent decay that may cause you pain in the future.

Fillings: They fill a cavity in your teeth with gold, silver amalgam, or tooth-colored plastic and glass materials called composite resin fillings.
Implants: Are designed to replace a natural root and further support the new “replacement tooth” that will be installed.
Bridges: (fixed partial dentures) are false teeth that are designed to "bridge" the gap created by one or more missing teeth.
Dentures: Removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Your teeth might be gone because of gum disease, tooth decay, or an injury. They are made of acrylic resin, sometimes combined with metal attachments.

WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTION IN TORONTO, ON

Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the last permanent teeth to appear (erupt) in the mouth.

These teeth usually appear in your mid teens to early 20’s. Some people never develop wisdom teeth. For others, wisdom teeth erupt normally — just as their other molars did — and cause no problems.

Several people develop impacted wisdom teeth — teeth that don't have enough room to erupt into the mouth or develop normally. Impacted wisdom teeth may erupt only partially or not at all.
